Master Bedroom Wallpaper – The Accent Wall

There’s no better way to create a jaw dropping statement in a bedroom than with a beautiful wallpaper accent wall. It used to be called a ‘feature wall’ but that term was linked to garish bright colours from the early 2000’s. So with a quick change of name the feature wall, now accent wall became cool again. I personally don’t care what it’s called and love the final look an accent wall gives when a room is decorated well.

Bedrooms are the perfect place for an accent wall, behind the bed as you walk in to a room, it sets a beautiful backdrop from the rest of the room to flow from it.

Where to start? I hear you! It’s time to procrastinate until you are so sure you can’t wait any longer. I’d lived in my new house 3 month before I finally came to the decision on what I wanted my accent wall to look like.

Start with a mood board. Don’t try and do it in one night. Let it build up naturally. It took me ages going through paint swatches, blind swatches, furniture finishes, that eventually led me to my ideal wallpaper for my master bedroom. Top tip – Order samples and look at them together in different light. Colours change massively dependant on light and it can make all the difference depending on what colour palette you want to achieve.

The decision to use Farrow & Ball was an easy one, not only because of the quality and beautiful pattern choices on the wallpaper but the fact I could choose the exact paint as the background of the paper so the accent wall naturally flowed out into the adjoining walls. It’s completely seamless from paper to wall.

The Wallpaper I have used in my Master Bedroom is from Farrow & Ball called -Wisteria – Click here to shop my wallpaper.

The background of the paper is the same as the paint around the rest of the room called – Skimming Stone.

The paint I used for my walls is Farrow & Ball Skimming Stone.
