Ideas to create a restful bedroom

The bedroom should be the perfect sanctuary away from the hustle and bustle of the rest of the home. Comfy and inviting, that can immediately take your mind to a place of calm. Good storage that keeps everything away from view and a welcoming bed that you can’t wait to jump into and relax.

Bedding is important too, not so much the look but the feel. A great idea is to invest in quality sheets that feel soft on your skin. A luxury feeling as you get cosy helps towards a restful sleep.

I am asked occasionally, “What is the perfect bed frame to have in your bedroom?” The answer I usually give is one that is comfy. I usually stay away from metal or hard framed beds that you could bump your head on. If your pillow slips you’re left with metal bars behind you.

If you can afford a quality upholstered bed frame I’d suggest one just like this bed from Sofas and Stuff. With a choice of many fabric colour options, it looks great with most styles and bedding.

If you love the idea of a muted and calming grey palette, there are many options to create a welcoming bedroom with the use of layers and scatter cushions.

The bedding used in this bedroom is from The White Company,  while the large sumptuous chunky knit throw is from Saint Wools.

The furniture in this bedroom has been designed to fit this loft conversion perfectly by Hammonds Furniture. The range used is Harpsden in light praline colour finish.
